Go deep. Janet Jackson is turning up the heat in the video for her comeback single “No Sleeep.” The steamy clip, directed by Dave Meyers, takes place on a rainy day in Janet’s plush home. Looking straight out of the janet. era, the ageless superstar can be found inside, bundled up, while the rain falls down on her windowpane.
She makes her way through the house, stands in front of a childhood photo with her father, Joe Jackson, and warms up by the fireplace. After dancing up the staircase, she heads to the bedroom before meeting up with J. Cole.
“Cole World,” she says, while the Forest Hills Drive rapper—whose tour she just attended—appears on the couch beside her to spit his verse.
The J. Cole-assisted version of the song will appear on Janet’s as-yet-untitled 11th studio album, due in late September on her Rhythm Nation label via BMG.
“I hope u enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it,” said Janet, while Cole tweeted, “No Sleeep. Classic!”
On Aug. 31, Janet will kick off the first leg of her “Unbreakable World Tour” in Vancouver.
