Over the years diet as proven to be useful to all ages. There are different types of diet and approaches available to be adopted. Before going into detail, there is need to know what makes successful diet and unsuccessful diet.

What is diet? and what will be refer to as making a successful diet and unsuccessful diet.

What is diet?
Diet in normal sense can be refer to the food and drink a person consumes everyday and the common ethics connecting to eating.

Diet can be said to be a nutritional lifestyle that promotes good health. Diet must include several groups of food because a single group cannot provide all the necessary things the human body needs for healthy living.

Whether a person wants to lose weight or gain weight, dieting is a way to control a desired weight without compromising health.

Over the years, there have been a lot of dieting programs and trends available but they can all be categorized into only three.




They are 
(1) Low-fat diet,
(2) Low-carbohydrate diet,
(3) Low calorie.

1. Low-fat diet is a kind of diet that is low in fat and it helps to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood stream. Since our body needs some good types of fats, low-fat diet cannot completely be without fat. Low-fat diet regulate a kind of fat called saturated fats which are mainly found in meats, lard and dairy products. These fats are also known as "Trans Fats". When this kind of fat is low in the body it is helpful in reducing weight and lowering the cholesterol in the blood.

There are "good fats" that our body needs to keep healthy. They mainly come from Fruits, Nuts, Vegetables. These source of good fats are called the unsaturated fats which are divided into three groups. (1) Polyunsaturated fats, (2) Monounsaturated fats, (3) Omega three fatty acids.

These fat prevents heart diseases and increase cholesterol. You must understand the kind of fat you want to regulate since your objective is to be a healthier person.

2. Low-carbohydrate diet is a type of diet that limits the intake of carbohydrate such as bread,potatoes and pastas. The diet is known to reduce blood cholesterol.
Since carbohydrate are of great need to the body. Low-carbohydrate means choosing good carbohydrates, did not say "no carbohydrates".

3. Low calorie diet focuses on the amount of calorie consumed by a person. It limits the food that contain most of the calories. Calories are not bad to human health. They are needed by the body for energy. However, if you consume too much of calories, and not burning them with some activities, you will end up gaining much weight.
