Do you constantly pace around or fiddle with objects on your desk?
This could be a sign of autism, according to a new test.
Researchers have developed an assessment which measures the frequency and severity of a person's repetitive behaviours.
They say the test, which is still in early stages of development, could help diagnose autism in adults.
It is currently being finessed by researchers, who hope to roll it out to UK doctors as a diagnostic tool once it is finished.
The test, a questionnaire, includes questions such as:
*Do you like to arrange items in rows or patterns?
*Do you repetitively fiddle with items?
*Do you get upset about minor changes to objects (e.g. flecks of dirt on your clothes, minor scratches on objects)?'
It then asks people to rate how strongly they agree with a range of statements, including:
*I would rather go to a library than a party
*I often notice small sounds when others do not
*I usually notice car number plates or similar strings of information
